TOL

Sold 50 sh TOL @ 23.35

Another successful trade with (TOL: 18.20 +1.51%). Small one, but nice one.

Bought 50 sh TOL @ 21.80

And again I am back in (TOL: 18.20 +1.51%). This time I am committing a little less money. The indicators are only 50% in my favor but I am keeping my in on TOL. Let’s see what is it going to do now.

Sold 100 sh TOL @ 24.87

Trading (TOL: 18.20 +1.51%) continues. It went up 2 points today so I sold it for a nice profit.

Bought 100 sh TOL @ 22.87

Today TOL went down 2 points, so to be true to my words I bought it back. Let’s see what the future will bring.

Sold 100 sh TOL @ $24.87

From the short term TOL is overbought, so I am selling. Gain of only $12.30 is ridiculous, but at the same time looks like TOL’s ceiling is $25 and bottom is around $20. Selling at the gain avoids wash sale issue and will allow me to enter the trading stage and I am going to trade this puppy for a while.

TOLL BROS INC (TOL)     100   2,477.03   2,464.73   12.30

Sold 100 sh TOL

Yes, I sold again. Looks like everyone is buying. This is my third sell of TOL for a loss. IMHO in the short run TOL is overbought, so I want to raise some capital so when a time is right I can buy again. So far my trades in TOL do not look impressive at all:

12/27/2007 06/07/2007 100 2,043.01 2,759.95 -716.94
01/25/2008 06/19/2007 100 2,209.03 2,662.51 -453.48

Someone my ask if selling TOL why not selling DHI? I bought DHI on dip at the begining of January, so if I sell small position I would be hit by wash sale, and if I liquidate my DHI position I would be out of chance to make money in the long run. BTW, I am up over $1000 on DHI as of today. I will post details on DHI later.

Would-have-should-have-could-have: One thing I should have done is buy some LEN or PHM when I bought DHI. Why not TOL? I could not buy more TOL at the time for the same reason I did not sell DHI today - wash sale.

Sold 100 sh TOL

Sold 100 sh again. This is my second sell. First one was at the end of 2007 for write-off some losses. TOL went up from low $16 to $22 (over 35%) in a week, that is I think too much. I did not buy at low $16 because of a possible wash sale from last year.  I am not sure how that would apply for tax reasons, so I am forced to sell at a loss.
